Coloring Book Spreads CO Awareness
“Be CO Safe,” a coloring and activity book, aims to educate children on the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
This season, the Amanda Hansen Foundation is continuing the fight against the dangers of this odorless gas, prompting Western New York residents to install carbon monoxide detectors.
Ken Hansen, founder of the organization and father of Amanda Hansen, who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in 2009, said the organization is working hard to expand its efforts through a coloring and activity book for children. “I thought it would be great to have a coloring book for the kids.” Hansen reached out to his friend, Sherri Nestorowich, to illustrate the book, which takes children on an adventure with Amanda and her dog, Sadie, as they learn safety tips regarding carbon monoxide.
